Gather up the family, pile in the car or the mini-van and head to the Galaxy of Lights at the Gather up the family, pile in the car or the mini-van and head to the Galaxy of Lights at the Huntsville Botanical Garden for an enchanting drive through a holiday wonderland of icicle forests, Santa and his sleigh, and the 12 days of Christmas. Nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. through December 31. Admission for drive-through is $25 per car. Monday evenings after Thanksgiving are Military Night with a $5 discount for active or retired military with a valid ID.
Each year the Garden uses the Galaxy of Lights as a collection point for much-needed items in the community. Charities supported with collections are The Greater Huntsville Humane Society, Toys for Tots, Inner City Church of Christ, (new and gently used warm coats, hats, mittens, gloves; also non-perishable food items), Interfaith Missions Foodline (canned and boxed food items).
Why its a favorite: The Galaxy of Lights is a perfect opportunity to spend time with family and friends and give back to the community by sharing a little love through the charities it supports.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the Botanical Gardens is largely supported through the efforts of volunteers? Volunteers donate not only their amazing gardening skills and knowledge, but thousands of hours collectively to help with special events, grounds maintenance, visitor services, education program and of course to put on the Galaxy of Lights.
